Air-Lighting was one of the first projects I worked on at Holscher Design. I initiated the concept with the idea of a three-point cable system to suspend lighting above outdoor spaces and led the early design work through sketches, 3D modeling, and rendering. From there the solution was further developed and refined in close collaboration with the Holscher Design team and SIMES engineers. Designed to meet the realities of outdoor lighting such as weather wind water and adaptability it brings illumination from above while keeping a light architectural presence.

Hand sketches — three-point suspension studies
The project began with an exploration of outdoor lighting environments and the challenge of creating harmonious, evenly distributed light. Initial experiments with floor lamps highlighted limitations in scale and practicality, leading me to investigate suspended systems inspired by minimal architectural cable structures. Through a series of 3D studies, I developed modular compositions that explored both spatial presence and graphical expression. These explorations, combined with insights from streetlamp configurations, culminated in a three-point suspension system. This modular setup not only enables dynamic architectural arrangements but also ensures precise and even light distribution across diverse environments.

Developed in collaboration with Holscher Design, Air-Lighting was showcased at Salone del Mobile in Milan in April 2025. The exhibition marked an important milestone for the project and highlighted the strength of cross disciplinary collaboration in bringing the concept to market.
